book club lists 10 by Articles Uncovered

There are so many new books published these days that I find it extremely difficult to consistently make good reading choices. Even when I follow the recommendations of literary critics from major publications such as the New York Times or the Los Angeles Times, I often end up wasting time and money on novels that simply don't appeal to me. That's why I decided to start choosing my future titles from book club lists instead.

Book club lists are compilations of recommended works from various reading groups around the country. Reading groups tend to attract a wide variety of people, all with slightly different tastes when it comes to literature. So if a particular title makes it on to several book club lists, then I can be relatively sure that the work is worth purchasing and reading. Since I've been following the recommendations of book club lists, I've had much greater success with finding works that I've actually enjoyed reading.

Many book club lists are posted online and are freely accessible to all. Through trial and error, I've discovered which discussion groups stick to the genres that I like, so now I know exactly which websites to go to for new suggestions. I have also discovered that many public libraries (and library websites) post book club lists for their patrons. Sometimes these recommendations come from discussion groups that meet at the library, and sometimes they are more or less just the favorite works of different staff members. Either way, I've had a lot of success finding interesting novels through library book club lists.

Another benefit of selecting titles from book club lists is that I can often get a significant price break for doing so. Some of the reading groups I've come upon apparently have deals with publishers whereby members can purchase the selection of the month for a discount. This discount is even available to the general public when purchased directly through the reading group's website or from a special link on the site. I've been able to buy current best-selling titles for 20 to 30 percent off the cover price when I use links found in online book club lists -- and I didn't even have to become a member myself or commit to any contracts.

So if you're looking for a better way to find great books to read, I suggest that you check out some book club lists. This is a very easy and convenient way to keep up with the latest literary successes.
