Although sinus infections are not the most acute and dangerous of infections, they can be among the most persistent. For some people, sinus infections come and go, but for others they persist for months and months. Chronic sinusitis can makes your life miserable. Without working sinus cures, you will stay sick indefinitely. Your head will feel dizzy, swollen with pressure, and painful. You will be unable to concentrate, sleepy, and miserable. This is why there are so many sinus cures out there. Unfortunately, few cures for sinus infection work the way that they are supposed to.
The most common sinus cure, of course, is prescription antibiotic medicine. Antibiotics have been used for sinus cures for decades now, despite the fact that they don't work. Some sinus infections are bacterial, but other ones are viral or even fungal. Doctors tend not to differentiate, or even investigate the cause of the infection. They hand out antibiotics like candy, and the net effect is that people get even sicker. This sinus infections do not go away, and often get worse. Nonetheless, some sinus cures are very simple. Some of the most effective cures for sinusitis involve nothing but hot water and a few herbs.
My favorite sinus cure is to use warm water with mint oil in it. I took this from some other sinus cures that I had seen traditionally prescribed. One of the most common cures for sinus infections is to breathe in the steam from mint tea. Another sinus cure is to rinse the nasal passages our with warm water. I combined these two by putting mint oil into warm water and squirting it up my nose. Although it burns like nothing else, it does clear out the pressure. Only a few minutes after using this sinus cure, you will feel your whole sinus cavity clearing out.
Of course, another sinus infection natural cure is to take immune supporting supplements. Unlike antibiotics, supplements to support the immune system strengthen the body's entire defense rather than targeting one specific group of organisms. These sinus cures include Echinacea, goldenseal root, ginseng, and other herbs. These natural cures for sinus infections may take a little bit longer than the antibiotics to work, but they will treat a broader range of sinus infections without the drawbacks that come with antibiotics. All in all, they are much better for your health than other kinds of sinus cures.
